Leaf-shaped point, flat one side and slightly ridged the other. Butted seam conical socket chipped to one side. Professionally conserved excavated condition with some loss to the socket. Used both in battle and household defense, the Viking spear was known as an atgeir. It is commemorated in the Islandic saga, Njals Saga where it is said to make a ringing sound when taken down in anticipation of bloodshed
