Fine example displaying the Viking smith's skill and artistry. Forged iron about 2" length. Crisply detailed. Tapered striking bar struck with three radial marks, probably the Wheel of Fortune. Tapered terminal grip with monster head finial. The curvilinear form is suggestive of the prow of the Viking long warship. Conserved sound excavated condition.
