Forged iron, 3 7/8” length.  Skillfully forged with tapered rectangular top on elongated pyramidal base spike. Used to sharpen sword and service edge nicks on sword blades in the field. The spike was driven into a log or tree and the blade edge hammered against to top. Considerable effects of use in its working life.  See The Mastermyr Find, Arwidsson and Berg, #72 for a related example found in Gotland, Sweden.
