Gilt bronze, size 6 ¼+. Deeply rounded band, 2.6 mm width. Circular bezel with the top lattice scored, superficially imitating a gemstone and blatantly advertising the intentions of the wearer. Roman prostitutes were typically adolescents, largely slaves. Prostitution was practiced openly with brothels sometimes sharing doors with libraries. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.  A Roman ring of classic fashion form, executed in perfunctory detail for the prostitution market.
