FINE VIKING SCRAMASAX 9th-10th CENTURY AD
FINE VIKING SCRAMASAX 9th-10th CENTURY AD
SKU:FNS7166
The classic fighting knife of the Vikings specifically used for throat slashing. This example epitomizes that form with its broad clipped point blade and whittle tang which was set into a bone, wood or antler grip without a guard. The thickness is specifically intended for human flesh, 0.115" at the midpoint back, slightly under 1/8". A utility knife would be half again or more as thick. 7" total length in professionally conserved excavated condition with excellent profile. On Plexiglas display mount with certificate of authenticity.
