ANCIENT VIKING RAIDER'S TANGED ARROWHEAD, 850-1000 AD
ANCIENT VIKING RAIDER'S TANGED ARROWHEAD, 850-1000 AD
SKU:B4625
4 1/8” length, finely forged iron with elegantly rounded cutting edges and rounded bottom. Flared bolster with a tapered tang. The point of heavy form as used when adversaries wearing protective leather or cloth garments were encountered. Vikings preyed on common people who, if warned, would wear protective garments. Thus, this arrow was made for the classic Viking raid which started with the savage slaughter of anyone encountered, until the remaining victims ceased resisting and capitulated to their demands which included seizing anything of value and often, enslaving those fit for the market or their own use.
